Where To Find The Best Noodles in Austin
Noodles come in all shapes and sizes. I love them all. I don't discriminate against the noods. Whether they're Asian or Italian, fresh or dry, sauced up or stuffed up, noodles are arguably one of the best dishes to eat for any mood. There's just so much variety and the options are endlessI've had my fair share of noodles throughout the years, especially because I grew up eating top ramen (honestly, you can't go wrong with those either - add an egg and thank me later). I would like to think I can tell a good noodle from a bad one as my taste buds have matured and ventured out beyond top ramen. As a gift to y'all, I've decided to curate a list of my favorite places in Austin to get the best noodles in town (#sendnoods):

Beef Flat Noodle at 888 Pan Asian Restaurant
I've gone here so many times during my days at UT and these beef flat noodles always came in clutch. Best part? They're open til 2AM every night except Sunday. So when you've had a long night of studying or have a random craving for noodles, you can ensure that 888 has your backImage courtesy of Emma W./Yelp
Pad Thai at Thai Fresh
The pad thai here is a little bit on the expensive side (around $17 for a plate depending on the type of meat), BUT it's worth it in my opinion. I can eat it all in one sitting, however, it's enough food to eat half for dinner and the rest for next day's lunch. They also have this super addictive chili sauce that I can't get enough of - I'd put that on everything tbhimage courtesy of Leslie K./Yelp
Combination Lo-Mein at First Chinese BBQ
This is my family's personal favorite at First Chinese BBQ. For our family of four, we order 2 plates. It's THAT good. It's exactly what you want and expect when you order authentic Chinese noodles
Hand-Pulled Noodles
Pappardelle Stir-Fried Noodles at Xian Sushi & Noodle
You will thank me later for trying these noodles. The pappardelle is the perfect texture and goes well with any choice of meat. This is another restaurant that pairs their noodles with a super addictive chili sauce. The amount of chili sauce I dump on these noodles is borderline absurd, but it just makes these noodles extra specialimage courtesy of Yunny D./Yelp
Beef Noodle Soup at Julie's Homemade Noodles
I went to their original food truck frequently when I was attending UT. The noodles here are so damn good. The food truck also has a brick and mortar if you're not trying to eat alongside a bunch of UT students
Noodles in a Broth
Miso Hot at Ramen Tatsu-Ya
This place speaks for itself. My favorite is their Miso Hot. It's definitely on the heavier side, but I can't ever get myself to order anything else whenever I visit. Of course, their whole menu is delicious and you can always customize your ramen by adding in things - try the spicy bomb!image courtesy of Kenneshia C./Yelp
Spicy Miso at Daruma
Daruma is great when you're in the mood for something a little bit lighter. They still have tasty ramen, just without the pork-based broth. Vegetarian options are pretty good here and if you're looking for a fun eating experience, the employees here are so charasmatic
Miso Spicy at Yoshi Ramen
I'm going to be honest, this place gets mixed reviews, however, I like it a lot! The flavor here is delicious and I think they've worked out their kinks since opening. Their menu also boasts a variety of ramen and broth-less versions, which are all tastyimage courtesy of Shveta M./Yelp
Miso Ramen at Komé
Definitely on the more expensive side, Komé is going to cost you an extra dollar or two to enjoy their ramen. Trust me though, it's worth it. You can taste the quality when you eat it and you won't even blink twice about the price after your first bite
Pho Please at Pho Please
It's cheap. It's fast. It's delicious. It's perfect for hangovers
Italian Noodles
Carbonara at Patrizi's
I discovered this place recently and it easily became my top spot for handmade pasta. The dining experience is also super fun! It's a food truck, but their outdoor seating is so aesthetic you forget that you aren't sitting inside a building worthy of it's gloryimage courtesy of Cantele USA
Carbonara at Italic
I fell in LOVE with their carbonara. One of my favorites in town! The wine pairing here is also amazing so if you're in the mood for something a bit on the fancy side, take a seat and enjoyimage courtesy of Adam G./Yelp
Mushroom Ravioli at Regal Ravioli
Another food truck putting in work! My favorite is their mushroom ravioli. The sauce isn't too thick and you don't feel super heavy after eating. Again, the portion size is enough to eat in one sitting or to save some for later. But I don't know why anybody wouldn't just devour the damn thingWhat's your favorite pasta dish?
